This hand-drawn artwork, created using Canva, is part of an art project where we were tasked with producing a piece that tells a story about the environment and life while incorporating elements of our course. The artwork symbolizes human growth through the image of a tree—showing that, like trees, people go through hardships and may break or bend, yet still continue to heal, grow, and thrive. It reflects the resilience of life and the connection between personal growth and the natural world.

Challenge
Blending the rigid, clinical structures of Radiologic Technology with the fluid forms of nature. The difficulty was taking skeletal and neurological anatomy (spines, torso, and brains) and using Canva to transform them into a hand-drawn, living symbol of environmental health, rather than a cold medical diagram.
Objective
Anatomical Integration: Use the vertebral column as branches and roots to represent the "backbone" of the ecosystem, and the human torso as the tree trunk to symbolize Mother Earth. Visualize the Unseen: Mimic radiography by revealing the internal, hidden structures (skeletal and brain anatomy) that give the environment its life and intelligence. Balance Science and Nature: Contrast detailed anatomical lines with soft environmental elements (the bluebird, hanging plant, and lush grass) to show a state of health and balance.
Results
The human body and the ecosystem are successfully merged into a single living organism. The spine-branches reaching toward the bluebird signify growth and connection, while the roots ground the piece in the earth. The final artwork accurately reflects the structural precision of radiography while delivering a powerful story about our codependence with nature.
